The convention of the artists statement is a curious one; its raison d`etre being to provide insight into the work and process of the artist, but in doing so it naturally risks impeding the ability of the work to communicate itself directly.

What I will say about my work is that I am somewhat agnostic when it comes to subject matter. I am insatiably curious with diverse interests, but never remain wedded to any one particular subject area for long. What is consistent in my work is a deep connection to a personal language of form visible in everything I do. The versatility of shapes to convey meaning, or conversely to act independently as their own beginnings and endings fascinates me endlessly. 

Currently I am interested in how technology is changing many basic assumptions about perception and what is signified by the terms “true” or “real” when applied to personal experience. To make these changes visible I am employing a variety of strategies, conceived and deployed separately in drawings and paintings that encompass both abstract and representational approaches.
